1. Professionalism
- Arrive on time, prepared, and in a quiet, appropriate environment.
- Dress and communicate in a manner suitable for a professional mentoring relationship.
- Honour your stated availability; cancel or reschedule early when unavoidable.
2. Respect & Inclusion
- Treat every student with dignity regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, socio- economic background, or academic history.
- Zero tolerance for harassment, bullying, hate speech, or discriminatory jokes, whether in sessions or in messages.
- Use inclusive language and check your assumptions about a student’s background or goals.
3. Safeguarding
- If a session involves a minor, ensure a parent or guardian has consented and, where appropriate, is present or informed.
- Never request personal information beyond what is necessary for the session.
- Report any disclosure of harm, abuse, or safety concern to Uniquest Africa immediately at support@uniquestafrica.com.
4. Honesty & Integrity
- Represent your qualifications, experience, and affiliations accurately.
- Provide guidance based on evidence and experience; acknowledge the limits of your expertise.
- Do not plagiarise, fabricate credentials, or misrepresent outcomes.
5. Confidentiality
- Keep student conversations, essays, and personal circumstances confidential.
- Do not share screenshots, recordings, or identifying details without the student’s explicit written consent.
- Comply with applicable data-protection laws, including Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
6. Boundaries
- Keep the relationship strictly professional. Romantic, sexual, or exploitative conduct is grounds for immediate removal.
- Do not solicit gifts, loans, investments, or off-platform payments from students.
- Do not recruit students into your business, MLM, religious organisation, or political campaign.
7. Conflicts of Interest
Disclose any conflict (for example, a relationship with an institution a student is applying to) before the session begins. If the conflict is material, withdraw and help the student find another mentor.
8. Platform Integrity
- Do not manipulate ratings, fabricate reviews, or collude with other mentors.
- Do not attempt to circumvent the booking or payment system.
- Keep your profile, bio, and photo current and accurate.
9. Reporting Violations
If you witness or experience conduct that breaches this Code, report it to support@uniquestafrica.com. Reports are handled confidentially. Retaliation against anyone who reports in good faith is itself a violation of this Code.
10. Consequences
Breaches may result in a warning, mandatory training, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from the Platform. Serious breaches (including safeguarding failures, fraud, or discrimination) will result in immediate termination and, where applicable, referral to the appropriate authorities.
