1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating a mentor account or submitting a mentor application on Uniquest Africa (“the Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Mentor Code of Conduct. If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform as a mentor.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, possess the professional or academic experience you describe in your application, and provide truthful information at all times. Uniquest Africa reserves the right to verify your credentials and to reject or revoke mentor status at its sole discretion.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your sign-in credentials and for all activity under your account. You must notify Uniquest Africa immediately of any unauthorised access. We may suspend accounts that appear to be compromised, misused, or abandoned.
4. Mentor Services
As a mentor, you agree to deliver sessions you schedule on the Platform with reasonable care, punctuality, and professionalism. You may not transfer sessions to third parties, substitute another mentor, or charge students outside the Platform’s payment system.
5. Payments & Fees
Session prices, mentor payouts, and platform fees are governed by the rate schedule communicated to you at onboarding and updated from time to time. Uniquest Africa processes student payments via its payment partners and remits mentor earnings on the agreed payout cycle, subject to verification and applicable taxes.
6. Content & Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of materials you create. By uploading a bio, photo, or session content, you grant Uniquest Africa a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and promote that content in connection with the Platform.
7. Cancellations & No-Shows
Mentors must cancel or reschedule sessions at least 24 hours in advance where possible. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in warnings, reduced visibility in search, or removal from the Platform.
8. Prohibited Conduct
You may not use the Platform to harass, discriminate against, or exploit students; to solicit off-platform payments; to share confidential student information; or to violate any applicable law. See the Mentor Code of Conduct for details.
9. Suspension & Termination
Uniquest Africa may suspend or terminate your mentor account at any time for breach of these Terms, the Code of Conduct, or applicable law, with or without notice. You may close your account at any time by contacting support.
10. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Uniquest Africa does not guarantee a minimum number of sessions, bookings, or earnings. Mentors are independent contractors and not employees of Uniquest Africa.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Uniquest Africa will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the fees paid to you in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
12. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any dispute shall be resolved in the courts of Accra, Ghana, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
